York County Sheriff Bruce Bryant’s hopes for a eastern law center have floated down the Catwaba River.
County Council chairman Britt Blackwell called the county’s plans for a holding center and courtroom space near the Riverwalk site “dead” Wednesday night after a lengthy presentation outlining the county’s space needs for the next 30 years.
Blackwell said the council abandoned the Riverwalk site in hopes of keeping the remainder of a yet-to-be-determined bond referendum intact. That referendum would pay for new county administration offices and addition to the Moss Justice Center and more.
