Water service to several thousand Clover residents was restored early Tuesday morning following a massive water main break.
Shortly after 3 a.m., the town posted news of the outage to it’s Facebook page, indicating residents on town’s water system would have little water pressure — or more likely — a total loss of water service.
Just after 6 a.m., Clover Police Department Capt. David Dover said crews were expected to complete work on the main line on U.S. 321 near JAkob’s Food Mart by 9 a.m. Service was restored within that time window.
Some of the town’s residents were caught off guard by the service outage. “No showers at my house this morning! But at least I won’t be calling a plumber,” Laura Shaffer Brewer wrote on the town’s Facebook page, “Thanks for the notice!”
Back in January, a similar water main break along U.S. 321 cut service to most of the town.
