Rock Hill Police say a 16-year-old boy died after a single-vehicle crash late Thursday night.

Police say the 1999 Acura sedan was traveling south on Heckle Blvd. near Wade Hampton Blvd. about 11:00 p.m. when it left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree.

The driver, identified as 16-year-old Frankie Lane Adams of Rock Hill, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say excessive speed is believed to be the primary factor in the wreck.
