Rock Hill native and former South Pointe star Jadeveon Clowney achieved his goal of being the #1 pick in the NFL draft as he was drafted by the Houston Texans. Clowney, who was the #1 high school recruit just 3 years ago, made it clear that it was important to him that he finished his college career like he started it, as #1. Clowney was visibly emotional as his name was called and vowed to buy his mother a new home as soon as possible. A packed South Pointe High School Cafeteria shared their excitement after his name was announced. Prior to the NFL draft, the Rock Hill sports commission hosted a Draft Party.
