Police responding to a car crash early this morning in Lancaster County found a person suffering from a gunshot wound dead inside the vehicle.
Deputies say it turned out to be an officer-involved shooting on Grace Avenue.
Sheriff Barry Faile says three officers responded to the call for an erratic driver. Faile says one of the officers fired shots and killed the driver.
The three officers are on administrative leave and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating.
Faile is not saying what prompted the shooting. He says it looks like the officer acted within policy.
