A woman is dead after a Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputy shot her in the chest early Thursday.
Three sheriff’s deputies were responding to a call of an erratic driver on Grace Avenue when they made a traffic stop.
At some point, there was a shooting, but officials will not release any details about what led to the shooting.
The woman killed was identified as 55-year-old Ingrid Mayer of Lancaster.
Mayer was arrested for DUI this week, and bonded out Wednesday.
The three deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave.
The State Law Enforcement Division confirms its agents are investigating the shooting, but would not release any further information.
