S.C. Lawmakers confirm three Winthrop University trustees

South Carolina lawmakers confirmed three Winthrop University Board of Trustee candidates who ran unopposed this week.

Donna Glenn and Ashlye Wilkerson were both re-elected to the board, representing Congressional Districts two and six, respectively. Randy Imler replaces longtime board member Bob Thompson. Wilkerson and Imler are both Winthrop Univesrity graduates and all will serve six year terms.

Holley, of Columbia, joined the trustees in 2004 and works for the S.C. Legislative Council.

Wilkerson, also of Columbia, is a doctoral candidate at the University of South Carolina and is an instructor at the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg.

Imler, of Tega Cay, is the executive director of the Catwaba Regional Council of Governments and is actively involved in Winthrop’s music programs.

Thompson, a retired Springs Industries executive and past chair of the Winthrop Foundation, has served on the board for 19 years since 1992. Thompson will exit the Board of Trustees in June.
