The Rock Hill School board voted this afternoon to name Kelly Pew of Pickens County as its new superintendent.

The vote came after board members met for several hours behind closed doors to discuss the three finalists.

Pew will be paid $180,000 annually.

She succeeds the departed Lynn Moody, who left last year to become the superintendent of the Rowan-Salisbury school district in North Carolina.

The other finalists for the position were Tommy Schmolze of Fort Mill and Rich O’Malley of Edison, N.J.
