State authorities are investigating yet another fatal shooting in York County — this time by a York County Sheriff’s Deputy in Fort Mill.
Around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Trent Faris says deputies were called to a home off Lurecliff Place with a report of a suicidal person.
At the scene, deputies said James Youngblood, 28, pointed a firearm at the deputies, who then opened fire, killing him. No deputies were injured in the shooting.
York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said an autopsy on Youngblood’s body will be conducted later today. The State Law Enforcement Division is now investigating the incident.
