The latest unemployment figures provide good news for much of the tri-county area, as well as for the state.
The Department of Employment and Workforce reports that York County’s jobless rate dropped .2 percent in March to 6.7 percent.
That’s still well below the 9.6 percent rate the county experienced in March 2013.
Chester County’s rate fell .4 percent last month to 7.4 percent, while Lancaster County’s rate held steady in March at 6.3 percent.
South Carolina’s unemployment rate dropped .2 percent last month to 5.5 percent.
That’s the Palmetto State’s lowest rate since March 2008.
