Christian filmmaker Erik Estrada returns to Rock Hill this summer for the filming of a new movie.
‘One Church’ is a feature film depicting life in America after the federal government declares a national religion, forcing Christians to worship in secret.
Joey Deese, pastor of Oakdale Baptist Church in Rock Hill, is part of a team of local churches leading the effort.
“Churches in Rock Hill are working together,” Deese said, after Estrada visited Rock Hill earlier this year for a screening of one of his films. “We’re seeing now a lot of pastors starting to get together and say ‘you know what, we want to reach this city for Christ.’ And that’s what he saw here.”
Estrada and Rock Hill One — a consortium of local evangelical churches — will hold an informational pre-production meeting Saturday, May 3 at 10 a.m. at West End Baptist Church.
