A 125-year-old, fifth-generation family-owned business opened a new 72,500 square-foot distribution facility off Highway 160 in Fort Mill today.
F. Schumacher and Company provides fabrics, wall coverings and accessories to the interior decorating business.
“Designers customers are residential homeowners, and we also supply hotels around the world,” Terri Eagle, President and CEO of the company, said.
“We have a very high-end clientele that uses our collections,” Eagle added.
F. Schumacher had operated out of a more than 500,000 square-foot facility in Chester County 20 years ago, but decided it didn’t need nearly that much space.
The new Catawba Distribution Center in Fort Mill employs about 40 people.
