Lindsay Salter, a sophomore special education major, died from complications from an unexpected illness after leaving campus to return home to Columbia, a university official confirmed Monday. Salter was 19.
Salter was described as someone who “consciously looked after her many friends” an an active member of the Margaret Nance hall residential community.
“Ask the students to remember her by befriending others, serving each other with kindness and love beyond themselves,” said vice president for student life Frank Ardaiolo in an e-mail to students. The request came from Salter’s mother via e-mail.
Salter’s visitation will be Tuesday, March 28 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Spring Valley Baptist Church in Columbia. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday at 2 p.m.
