tega-cay-no-swimAnother sewer overflow was reported in Tega Cay Friday morning.

Following heavy rains Thursday and today, Utilities, Inc. says three “reportable” overflows have occurred at one of the company’s sewage treatment plants.

“Due to the elevated volume of waste water flowing through the collection system…the waste water level rose…and resulted in Sanitary Sewer Overflows at two low-lying manholes,” Utilities, Inc. spokesman Tom Oakley said.

Crews unclogged the pump, but doing so led to some seepage into two coves on Lake Wylie.

“No Swimming” signs have been posted and a voice message was delivered to customers.
