The State Law Enforcement Division has charged a Chester City Councilman with threatening the city’s police chief and one of his officers.

70-year-old Odell Williams faces two counts of threatening the life of a public official.

Warrants made available by SLED allege that on March 10th, Williams threatened police chief Andre Williams and Major Gene Gilmore in the restroom at Chester City Hall.

The warrants say Odell Williams used racial slurs, explained that he didn’t like either one of them and would ” take them out”.

The warrants go on to say that Odell Williams placed his hand in his pocket, implying that he had a weapon and knew how to use it.

The charges are felonies that could send Odell Williams to prison for five years and-or cost him a $5,000 fine.
