York Co. boy found safe inside nearby gas station

UPDATE, 8:13 p.m.: York County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Trent Faris said Hynson was found safe inside a gas station at the coroner of S.C. 274 and S.C. 161. A clerk recognized Hynson’s description and contacted authorities.

The York County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in finding a missing boy  in a neighborhood off S.C. 274.

Brandon Hynson, 10, came home from school around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, dropped off his book bag and left the hose, York County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Trent Faris said.

Faris said a neighbor came by to check on the boy later in the afternoon and noticed he was missing.

Hynson was last seen getting off the bus at this family’s home at 688 Winding Branch Road. He’s described as a black male, 4-feet 10-inches tall and 91 pounds. Faris said he was last seen wearing a green jacket, brown toboggan and jeans.

York County’s Department of Public Safety Communications issued an automated emergency notification message via the county’s 9-1-1 system around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. A photo was not immediately available, Faris said.
