Police: Bank of America robbery suspect likely fled on foot

The Bank of America branch on Cherry Road in Rock Hill remains closed at this hour following a robbery this afternoon.

UPDATE, 3:51 p.m.: Police say the suspect did not flee in a Kia Rio and may have fled on foot. a K-9 unit has since been called in to survey the area.

At 2:23 p.m. today, Rock Hill Police spokesman Mark Bollinger said a black man in his late 50s to early 60s walked in the bank demanding money. The suspect presented a note to the teller instructing her to not sound any alarms. He did not present a weapon, Bollinger said.

The suspect fled the bank with undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported in the incident.
