Becky and Stephen Kowalski along with their daughters Erin and Brittany will be introduced on the court following Senior Day ceremonies and prior to the national anthem. The Kowalski’s became acquainted with Coach Kelsey following his Ohio State postgame in Columbus, OH on Dec. 15 and his subsequent appearances on national news programs.
The couple will take the opportunity to talk with the media after the game about the CMAK (Chase Michael Anthony Kowalski) Sandy Hook Elementary Memorial Fund and the Race4Chase fundraising initiative.
Members of the team and coaching staff will honor the memories of the 26 victims of the Sandy Hook shooting in a special way. Each player will have the name(s) of a child victim on the backs of their uniform jerseys. Senior team captain Joab Jerome’s jersey will bear Chase’s name while several of the players will have multiple first names on their jerseys. The coaching staff will wear lapel pins in memory of the six staff members whose lives were lost.
