The Arts Council of York County is considering building a Performing Arts Center in Old Town Rock Hill.

Four firms will be interviewed February 19 to perform a $65,000 feasibility study for the proposed facility.

“What we’re assuming and envisioning is a 500 to 600-seat theater,” said Comporium Communications senior vice president for external affairs Matt Dossch.

Dossch said the telecommunications giant is looking at a proposed budget of $12 million. The timeline of the project is fluid and based on a number of factors including fundraising, design and construction phases.
