Former University of South Carolina defensive lineman and South Pointe High School star Jadeveon Clowney avoided a hearing scheduled for this afternoon by requesting a jury trial for one of the two speeding tickets he received.
Clowney’s attorney, Pete Strom, requested the jury trial by telephone Wednesday.
Fairfield County magistrate Paul Swearingen granted Strom’s request.
Clowney was pulled over in Winnsboro last month after being clocked driving 110 miles per hour.
Later in December he was stopped again for driving 84 miles per hour in Columbia where I-26 meets I-126.
