ROCK HILL, SC – Women’s soccer forward Krystyna Freda has been named to the 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women’s All-Southeast Region Second Team.
Freda, a junior from Somerset, NJ, has earned the NSCAA All-Region spot for the third time in her three-year Eagle career. She was a third-team honoree her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Freda continued her storied career and assault on the Winthrop and Big South record books this year, earning her second consecutive Big South Attacking Player of the Year Award.
She led the conference in goals per game (.895), points per game (2.05), total goals (17) and total points (39). Her goals per game and points per game ranked her ninth and seventh respectively in the NCAA while she continued to rank in the top 20 in the NCAA in total goals and total points.
This season Freda broke the conference record for career game-winning goals, totaling 19 through three years. She has moved into a tie for sixth all-time in goals scored with 41. Her 108 career points are third currently in Big South history.
