The Charlotte Knights are just a few months away from First Pitch at the new BB&T Ballpark in uptown Charlotte.
The team wrapped up decades of play this summer in Fort Mill, but Knights General Manager of Baseball Operations Scotty Brown says the team still has a sizable following from York County.
“We’re seeing [ticket sakes] scattered throughout the metro area. It’s not just within the city, it’s south, it’s north. We’ve sold about 150 season tickets from folks in York County.”
Progress at the 10,000-seat ball facility is approximately one month ahead of schedule in Charlotte’s Third Ward.
The team is set to move in to the new site in January or February. First pitch in Charlotte is in April.
