byron-barr-2A Rock Hill toddler who died Monday in Sumter will be laid to rest Saturday.

Byron Jared Barr, II, drowned in a pond approximately 200 yards from his grandparents home on Buckingham Blvd in Sumter. He was visiting with his grandparents over Veterans Day Weekend.

Services for the two-year-old will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ.

Investigators have spent much of the week probing the incident in an attempt to determine exactly how the Barr died, reports the Sumter Item.

“Our findings will be forwarded to the solicitor’s office,” Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis said.

An autopsy conducted Tuesday confirmed the child’s death as drowning. Sumter County Coroner Harvin Bullock concluded the results point to an accidental death.

“No signs of struggle, foul play, or any kind of trauma,” Bullock said.

Barr’s parents were in Rock Hill at the time of their son’s death.
