Police ID two at-large suspects in deadly apartment shootout

One man is dead and another remains hospitalized at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte following a shooting Tuesday at he Stone Haven apartments off Celanese Road in Rock Hill Tuesday night.

At 5:31 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to a third-floor apartment and found Jordan Poirier dead from a gunshot wound.

Rock Hill police spokesman Mark Bollinger said detectives described a gunfight in the apartment, where three men fled the scene.

One man, Demonte Laterrius, 20, of Bose Ave., in Rock Hill took a bullet to the arm and broke his leg. Latterius was driven by the two other suspects, Desmond Cunningham, 21, of Steed Street and Keynan McClinton, 20, of Chandler Drive, to CMC-Pineville for his injuries.

Bollinger said Latterius was later transported to CMC-Main and remains in custody by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The two other suspects, however, remain at large.

“They should be considered armed and dangerous,” Bollinger said.

Two guns were recovered from the apartment and were sent to the State Law Enforcement Division in Columbia for processing, which could take weeks, Bollinger said.

Tuesday’s shooting was the third homicide of the year in Rock Hill.
