Winthrop Women Are 7th After Two Rounds Of Fighting Camel Fall Classic

BUIES CREEK, NC–The Winthrop women’s golf team find itself in seventh place after 36 holes of the Fighting Camel Fall Classic being held at Campbell University’s Keith Hills Country Club.

Winthrop stands at 614 (312-302) and is 22 shots behind the host Campbell Camels heading into Tuesday morning’s final round. The Eagles are only three shots behind Iowa and High Point who are tied for fifth place.

Junior Jennifer Dilger (Palmdale, CA) is leading Winthrop and is tied for 11th place after scoring 151 (74-77) on the par 72, 6,026-yard Orange Course. Junior Rachel Wyatt (Blythewood, SC) and freshman Louise Jeppesen (Vken, Sweden) are tied for 25th place after shooting 154. Wyatt opened with 80 and improved to 74 in the second round while Jeppesen shot 79 and 75. Next on the Winthrop leaderboard is senior Meagan Wallace (Charlotte, NC) who is tied for 28th at 155 (79-76). Rounding on the Winthrop scoring is sophomore Anna Jenkins (Rock Hill, SC) who is tied for 51st place after shooting 162 (84-78).
