Today, voters in Rock Hill’s Ward 5 election head to the polls to choose their next city councilwoman.
But, this time, there’s one more document you’ll need to present in order to vote.
A photo ID.
Today’s election is the first in Rock Hill where a new state law takes effect, requiring every voter to present photo identification to cast a ballot. Acceptable forms of ID include a S.C. Drivers License, a S.C. DMV-issued ID card, a Federal Military ID, a U.S. Passport or a Voter ID card with a photograph.
A total of eight precincts are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and are dependent on where you live:
Three candidates are vying for the Ward 5 seat, including Nikita Jackson, Ann Williamson-Morrison and Mildred Moore. For full interviews with the candidates, click here.
