Ward 5 voters head to the polls today to choose a new city councilwoman

Today, voters in Rock Hill’s Ward 5 election head to the polls to choose their next city councilwoman.

But, this time, there’s one more document you’ll need to present in order to vote.

A photo ID.

Today’s election is the first in Rock Hill where a new state law takes effect, requiring every voter to present photo identification to cast a ballot. Acceptable forms of ID include a S.C. Drivers License, a S.C. DMV-issued ID card, a Federal Military ID, a U.S. Passport or a Voter ID card with a photograph.

A total of eight precincts are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and are dependent on where you live:

  • Highland Park – Belleview School, 501 Belleview Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730
  • Mt. Holly – Oakdale School, 1129 Oakdale Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730
  • Northside – Northside Center, 900 Annafrel St, Rock Hill, SC 29730
  • Ogden – Antioch United Methodist Church, 930 W Rambo Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730
  • Rock Hill No. 2 – Rock Hill City Hall, 155 Johnston St, Rock Hill, SC 29730
  • Rock Hill No. 6 – Parentsmart, 384 E Black St, Rock Hill, SC 29730
  • Rock Hill No. 8 – The Children’s School at Sylvia Circle, 929 Sylvia Cir, Rock Hill, SC 29730
  • Edgewood – Edgewood School, 1446 Russell St, Rock Hill, SC 29730
