ROCK HILL, SC—The NCAA Division I men’s soccer national statistics were released on Monday and Winthrop is still ranked in the top five in scoring.
The Eagles have lost three straight games after opening the season 7-0-1 but the offense continues to rank among the nation’s best in several categories. The Eagles suffered a 2-1 loss to Campbell and a 3-2 road loss to Liberty in double-overtime last week as the team’s goals per game average is now 2.45, which ranks third nationally and first in the Big South Conference. The team is fifth nationally in assists per game (2.36), points per game (7.27), total goals (27) and seventh in total points (80). At 7-3-1, Winthrop still has one of the best winning percentages in the nation at .682 (36th).
Individually freshman Max Hasenstab is ranked 11th in the country in scoring at 1.73 points per game. He’s 24th in goals per game (0.64) and 39th in assists per game at 0.45. Adam Brundle is also 39th in assists per game and 34th in total assists.
