A large suspicious package found on a street curb kept Winthrop and Rock Hill police busy this morning.  However, the box was eventually found to be empty.

Rock Hill police spokesman Mark Bollinger says the box was found at the intersection of Stewart and Ebenezer.

Bollinger said the box was 4x4x4, had wrapping paper and a red bow on top.

He says Winthrop police called Rock Hill police, which called in its bomb squad.

Bollinger says the situation forced the closings of Stewart, Ebenezer and other streets in the vicinity for about an hour and 45 minutes.
