A Rock Hill man is now in custody in connection with a robbery last week at a Lancaster Walgreens.

But now, investigators say, Richard Wayne Jackson, Jr., may be responsible for more crimes in North and South Carolina.

Just before 7 a.m. on September 4, Lancaster Police Capt. Scott Grant said a white male walked into the store, demanding prescription medicine. Grant said as the man left the store, he brandished a handgun at an employee, who tried to follow him.

Grant said that over the weekend, unrelated incidents in York County, S.C. and Iredell County, N.C. led to Jackson’s arrest.

“Further investigation has also revealed that Jackson is responsible for the [Lancaster] Walgreen’s Armed Robbery,” Grant said.

In Lancaster, Jackson faces charges of Armed Robbery and Possession of a Firearm During a Crime of Violence.
