Joab Jerome Earns Preseason Recognition From College Sports Madness

ROCK HILL, SC—Winthrop men’s basketball senior Joab Jerome has been named preseason all-conference by College Sports Madness.

The 6-5 forward out of Marietta, GA was selected to the 2013-14 Preseason All-Conference Second Team. He averaged 10.7 points per game in 2012-13 with 28 starts and 30 games played. Jerome also averaged 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game as he tied for the team lead in assists with 67.

Jerome raised his game over the final six games of the season as he averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and shot 48 percent from the floor. His junior season was highlighted by his last second shot in overtime to lead the Eagles past Radford in the opening round of the VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Championship. That basket gave him a career-high 22 points as he also pulled down a career-best 12 rebounds in the win.
