Another $27,000 is now in the coffers of the Sheriff’s Foundation of York County following Monday’s annual golf tournament in Fort Mill.

The Foundation raises funds each year to support, among others, student scholarships, back-to-school supply drives and an Explorer Post through the Boy Scouts of America.

York County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Constable Trent Faris.

Last year’s tournament raised $16,000. Faris said with the increased support, some of those college scholarships have been doubled to $2,000 each.

In 2011, the tournament raised $11,000.
