A Rock Hill police officer was treated at an area hospital Tuesday afternoon after he was involved in a two-car collision on Cherry Road in Rock Hill.

At approximately 4 p.m., Rock Hill police spokesman Mark Bollinger said an unmarked police cruiser was involved in a collision at Constitution Blvd.

The 2013 Dodge Charger was driven by a non-uniformed police officer, who was transported to Piedmont Medical Center for minor injuries sustained in the incident.

The officer’s name was not immediately available.

Bollinger said the driver of the second vehicle left with her family and chose to visit a family doctor.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the incident which is customary in officer-involved collisions, Bollinger said.
