While Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court will ultimately decide the fate of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act, Winthrop University has already developed a course to help teach the healthcare administrators of the 21st Century.
This coming fall, Winthrop rolls out a new Healthcare Management Certificate program.
It’s a program that coordinator Dr. Michael Matthews says uses a lot of help to stay current in the ever-changing industry.
Matthews says reading the healthcare law cover-to-cover helps him better teach its inner workings to his students.
The program, however, came as a result of discussions with industry professionals.
The program is 15 credit hours and has been in the works for the past two years.
Matthews says regardless of who’s in the White House, change is nothing new in the healthcare industry.
