Customers at the Target on Dave Lyle Blvd. were stranded outside the store for nearly 20 minutes during an area-wide power outage.

Nearly 2,000 thousand City of Rock Hill power customers were without power for approximately 20 minutes this afternoon in the Manchester Village area.

Eyewitnesses say the district, including the Target shopping center, lost power just after 2:40 p.m.

City spokeswoman Katie Quinn says the outage was caused by a crow in a transformer site.

Power was restored just before 3 p.m.

Coming Thursday, city utilities officials will meet with Duke Energy regarding several power outages that have affected nearly all city customers since January.

Duke Energy provides the city’s power and runs the Catawba Nuclear Station, which the City of Rock Hill is a partial owner.
