After 25 years in Fort Mill, the Charlotte Knights officially open their new season in Charlotte April 11, 2013 at BB&T Ballpark.
Construction of the new state-of-the-art facility remains on schedule to open next spring, and the team announced Wednesday that all club seats are sold out for the 2014 season.
Knights Executive Vie President and Chief Operating Officer Dan Rajkowski said Wednesday he is pleased with the progress of the stadium and ticket sales.
And, Rajkowski said, that success has even come through amidst torrential rains this summer.
The Knights moved to the current facility in Fort Mill in 1988 and, with the help of the City of Charlotte, financed the new ballpark in Center City.
By the end of this year, Knights’ Stadium will be torn down to make way for a new mixed-use development backed by Charlotte fashion retailer Cato Corporation.
