After closing for nearly a month for renovations, the Baxter Hood Center reopened Thursday for the fist conference held at the upgraded facility.
The National Equestrian Trains Conference runs through Saturday and welcomes more than 100 guests from across the country to York County.
Rebekah Ardis of the Rock Hill/York County Convention and Visitors Bureau said the attendees will embark on two field trips to Western York County.
Ardis said the conference is exactly what she and her colleagues are trying to bring in — and retain.
It also helps the head of the S.C. Horseman’s Council, which hosts the conference, lives in York County.
The Baxter Hood Center’s renovations include upgraded carpet, paint, wall coverings and art.
