A leading Internet-based social expression and personal publishing service cut the ribbon today on its new 300,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Fort Mill that will employ 500 people.
Shutterfly, Inc. president and CEO Jeffrey Housenbold told the hundreds who turned out for the event today that his company was founded in 1999.
Housenbold said Shutterfly transforms the way people tell stories through photo books, personalized cards and stationery and photo gifts.
S.C. Lieutenant Governor Glenn McConnell welcomed the company to the Palmetto State.
York County Councilman Michael Johnson, whose district includes the facility behind Lowes off State Highway 160, said Shutterfly’s keepsake products bring joy to families and heirlooms for future generations.
Shutterfly is expected to add several hundred more jobs to its Fort Mill facility in the coming years.
The plant will house a portion of production and customer service personnel for the company.
