York County Sheriff’s Deputies seized $7,250 in counterfeit OtterBox iPad and phone cases Monday.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Constable Trent Faris said an OtterBox employee first alerted authorities to the fake cases after they were shipped to a Rock Hill business from an address in Hong Kong.
The subject in the investigation told sheriff’s deputies he was selling the OtterBox cases on eBay for $10 each.
Deputies recovered 33 counterfeit iPad cases and 107 phone cases.
OtterBox cases for the Apple iPad typically cost $90, while cases for the iPhone cost $50.
