It’s been less than a week since Debbie Hayworth announced she is resigning as President and Chief Professional Officer of the United Way of York County.

Hayworth said Monday she’s received a lot of positive reaction to her decision.

But—she’s not really leaving. Hayworth says upon her resignation May 31, she will become a volunteer community advocate.

But in the end, Hayworth says, it’s the people she will miss the most.

Hayworth says she needs to be with her parents in High Point, N.C.

She says hearing from friends, colleagues and coworkers since she decided to resign has been uplifting to her spirit.
