Thieves steal cash, electronics from more than 20 unlocked cars

Authorities in York County say thieves broke into at least 26 cars near two  Museum Road subdivisions overnight, walking away with cash, digital cameras and cell phones.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Trent Faris said Friday the incidents occurred on Tanner Commons, South Bank Drive, Kemper Circle and Museum Road.

Faris says there was one common thread between all of the thefts.

Sheriff’s deputies dispatched a K-9 unit  link the thefts together. 23 were reported in the county, while Rock Hill Police Executive Officer Mark Bollinger says three other break ins were reported this morning within city limits on Creek Bluff Road and Thomas Sans Drive.

Faris said deputies do not have any suspects at this time.
