Warehouse giant Sam’s Club is still months away from opening its first location in York County, but already the company is setting the stage to hire 175 employees to man the facility come this fall.
A temporary Welcome center opened Wednesday afternoon at the Market on Cherry Road.
Bill House will manage the new store in the High Pointe Shopping Center, and was first hired in 1991 as a garden center associate at a Walmart in Charlotte. In 22 years, he’s moved up the corporate ladder.:
The new welcome center sits next to Honeybaked Ham in the back of the shopping center.
“We are ecstatic to become a part of the Rock Hill community. Our club and Welcome center have been greeted with open arms and we look forward to a great partnership with Rock Hill and the individuals who live and work here,” House said.
Employment applications are accepted daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The center is also accepting membership applications at the same facility.
