Police: 2 charged in overnight hit-and-run; victim in critical condition

A hit-and-run  Wednesday night in Rock Hill left a 23-year-old man hospitalized in critical condition, while two men have now been charged in the incident.

Christopher Franklin, 31, and Jeremy Mobley, 25,  face multiple charges after police say the two struck Joshua Reynolds on his motorcycle at the corner of Mt. Gallant and Celanese Roads around 9 p.m.

Reynolds remains in care at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Police found Franklin at his Farlow Street home overnight and charged him with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving Under Suspension-2nd Offense and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.

Mobley turned himself in to investigators Thursday morning and is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving Under Suspension-1st Offense, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle and Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Tag.

Reynolds was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Rock Hill Police spokesman Mark Bollinger said the cause of the accident remains under investigation, and investigators are still seeking additional information about the incident.
