More than 150 local business leaders spent the day in Columbia Wednesday rallying support for York County among South Carolina legislators.
York County Regional Chamber President Rob Youngblood said the idea is to remind legislators that York County is in South Carolina
Youngblood said Wednesday’s York County Day was the largest crowd in the last three years.
Business leaders also heard from S.C. State Department of Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt.
Hitt said Wednesday there’s no reason business shouldn’t be dotting every mile along the I-77 corridor between York County and Columbia.
Youngblood says the event was designed to pair leaders in the private sector with the South Carolina delegation.
One of the biggest challenges, Youngblood says, is reminding them that York County is in South Carolina and is a great resource to bringing new business and industry to the Palmetto State.
