More than one thousand City of Rock Hill power customers were in the dark for nearly an hour Thursday night after a circuit breaker tripped at a power substation on Charlotte Avenue.
City of Rock Hill Utilities Director Scott Motsinger said around 10 p.m., a circuit breaker tripped before internal systems were able to identify the source of the problem.
The source of the outage remains unclear.
Motsinger says under normal circumstances, the breaker will trip two to three times to clear that line before entirely cutting off the power.
Mostinger said once power was restored, those mysterious faults cleared.
The outage affected approximately 1,350 city power customers.
