More than one thousand City of Rock Hill power customers were in the dark for nearly an hour Thursday night after a circuit breaker tripped at a power substation on Charlotte Avenue.
City of Rock Hill Utilities Director Scott Motsinger said around 10 p.m., a circuit breaker tripped before internal systems were able to identify the source of the problem.
The source of the outage remains unclear.:
Motsinger says under normal circumstances, the breaker will trip two to three times to clear that line before entirely cutting off the power.:
Mostinger said once power was restored, those mysterious faults cleared.
The outage affected approximately 1,350 city power customers.
