The Winthrop Eagles held #1 seed Charleston Southern to 29% shooting but were hammered on the boards 40-24 in losing to the Buccaneers 54-47. The Eagles, who trailed by 9 at the half, got within 3 points after a Gideon Gamble free throw with 2 minutes remaining, but went cold the rest of the way. The Eagles were again led by Joab Jerome who finished with 15 points. Gamble, playing in his final game, scored 10 including 2 3 pointers, giving him 101 for his career. With the loss, the Eagles end their season with a 14-17 record.
