Jadeveon Clowney is on the cover of this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated.

The South Pointe Stallion turned Gamecock turned All-American Defensive End makes this week’s cover on Clowney’s game-changing tackle of Michigan’s Vincent Smith in the Outback bowl.

“He runs gassers with the defensive backs,” said ESPN analyst and former NFL coach John Gruden. “That’s the kind of speed he has He’s the perfect player against today’s offenses. You want to run that read option? Clowney will tackle the back, and if he doesn’t have the ball, he’ll go get the quarterback. He’s the number one pick whenever he comes out.”

Clowney’s next public appearance on the gridiron is set for the Gamecocks’ spring game on April 13 at Williams Brice Stadium.

South Carolina opens up the 2013 football season August 29 against North Carolina.
