Deputies arrest York man who barricaded himself inside his home

The York County Sheriff’s Office responded with its SWAT team Wednesday morning in response to a domestic response complaint.

Deputy Kim Morehouse said Wednesday that 60-year-old Dieter Shaftner was arrested at his home in the Carolina Downs subdivision off S. Shiloh Road.

Morehouse said deputies had reason to believe Shaftner was armed and had barricaded himself inside his home.

Shaftner was arrested without incident and charged with 1st Degree Criminal Domestic Violence.
