Winthrop Economist: Dave Lyle Extension could bring $1.2 billion in tax revenue

Winthrop University Thursday released the findings of a study outlining the potential impact of extending Dave Lyle Blvd. in Rock Hill to US-521 in Lancaster County.

Economist Laura Ullrich tells WRHI York County stands to benefit by 1.2 billion dollars over the next four decades — just with the road construction alone.

The study is based on the notion that shoppers are likely to choose the closest stores and restaurants within a 20-minute drive.
