Carowinds announced plans to hire 21-hundred seasonal employees to staff the park for its 40th season. Park spokeswoman Julie Whitted said Monday applications are now being accepted online with pre-screen interviews taking place at the park itself. Applicants must be at least 15 years of age, put Whitted says jobs are available for teens to retirees.
Also, Carowinds officials say ground was recently broken on a new events facility known as “The Grove.” The facility, which park officials say can accommodate up to 15,000 people a day, will expand opportunities to host luncheons, company gatherings, school field trip and family reunions. Construction is set to wrap up by Spring 2013.
“The Grove gives Carowinds another way to help companies support and foster camaraderie among their employees,” says Ryan Redmond, Manager of Group Sales and Events. “Carowinds is the perfect setting to build bonds and enjoy the company of co-workers, friends, and family.”
The Grove will sit at the North Gate of the park adjacent to The Intimidator roller coaster. The six venues will be named for the trees that grace the park and thrive throughout the Carolinas; the Cedar, Oak, Maple, Magnolia, Palmetto and Dogwood areas will offer visitors a private space to gather, enjoy a meal, and spend time with friends and co-workers.
In addition, The Grove will include a new VIP room to host upscale events; the enclosed, air-conditioned Rose room will offer Audio/Video capabilities to meet any need from business meetings to award ceremonies.
