The winner of a $40,000 Powerball ticket sold in Fort Mill is about to give up his or her winnings. South Carolina Education Lottery spokeswoman Holli Armstrong said Monday the winning ticket was purchased before the August 1 drawing at Gate Petroleum on Hwy 160 West.
The ticket must be claimed by January 28. If the prize is not claimed, the $40,000 winnings will be deposited in the Education Lottery Account to support educational programs in South Carolina.
Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. For complete information on claiming prizes, visit sceducationlottery.com.
